Summary of Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s sporting activities
Both Kahkashan-e-Sharq and Institute of medical science have constantly made efforts to enhance sporting activities since they were founded. They have held several football and mini-football tournaments and have taken parts in different tournaments held by Herat University as well as by private sector in which they have had some achievements. It is worth mentioning that Kahkashan-e-Sharq has had remarkable activities in field of martial arts as well. In 1393 (2014) Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s karate Team participated in International Karate Tournament in Iran and managed to come third amongst several participants.
Having staged many exhibitions of sporting arts and activities in academic and cultural ceremonies, Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s athletes have proved that PT (physical training) is vital in man’s life - parallel to knowledge.
Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s Board of Leaders has established Office of Sports since it highly values sports and PT. Besides football, mini-football and martial arts, it also plans to expand its sporting activities even more so that it can further improve it and finally can contribute to the well-being of society.
Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s Office of Sports has significant plans which aim at training and operating in fields of football, mini-football, volleyball, basketball, chess, ping pong, swimming, gymnastic as well as various fields of martial arts among male and female students.
Mini-football competitions in the form of tournament are being held among 32 Herat mini-football teams on the occasion of the auspicious month of Ramadan. Kahkashan-e-Sharq has established two teams of A and B from among its students to participate in the tournament. The two teams have played very well so far. And we hope that they reach elimination round in the tournament.
Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s Office of Sports is determined to work hard to form different sports teams and pave the way for good and convenient training conditions.
Kahkashan-e-Sharq’s Office of Sports has formed various male teams in the fields of football, mini-football, volleyball, basketball, Taekwondo and Karate and it is going to establish female teams in the fields of volleyball, basketball and chess in the near future as well.
